Adele Takes Home Album of the Year and Song of the Year for 25 and ‘Hello’
Adele came out a big winner at the BBC Music Awards on Monday (Dec. 12). The British diva won both the fan-voted album of the year award for 25 and the song of the year honor for “Hello,” whileColdplay and The 1975 fared well too.
“Thank you for this award, I feel a bit bad winning it when the album’s been out for so long,” the singer said in a statement read by Robbie Williams. (25 was released Nov. 20, 2015.)
“Hello again, I’m so sorry I’m not there,” she said in another statement later. “I’ll be home soon and I can’t wait. It’s been a long year on the road and this makes me feel a little less homesick — I can’t wait for Wembley and then to get back to normal.”
Adele will wrap her world tour supporting 25 with four nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
